The Paris Air Show is finally back after a break due to the Pandemic and UK companies will be out in force highlighting the latest technologies and innovations.
The Paris Air Show is more than 100 years old and is the largest and longest-running aerospace trade show in the world. Since its launch, the event has been at the very heart of developments in the global aerospace market.
Now, its organiser, SIAE, a subsidiary of French Aerospace Industries Association (GIFAS), is gearing up for this year’s show after being forced to cancel the 2021 edition due to the Covid pandemic.
Taking place at the Le Bourget Parc des Expositions from June 19-25, the 54th edition will bring the global aviation sector together with companies showcasing the latest technological innovations.
It will house at least 150 aircraft on the static park, with many being involved in the daily flying displays.
The last show, in 2019, hosted 2,450 companies from 49 countries, and more than $140 billion worth of orders were placed.
SIAE said it expects this year to surpass those exhibitor and order figures. It added that visitors will also be welcomed to its brand new Hall 3, which has an exhibition area of 19,260sqm – compared to 12,040sqm in the old hall.
The British will be making their presence felt as, once again, ADS is coordinating the United Kingdom pavilion, which will occupy its traditional position in Hall 2B.
David Scotter, director of events and development at ADS said: “It is important that ADS supports companies in the United Kingdom pavilion to ensure they have a successful presence at the show, as well as engagement with potential customers.”
This year, ADS has confirmed at least 24 UK companies to the pavilion, including: Farnborough International, Advanex Europe, CAV Systems, Greene, Tweed & Co, Maher Limited, Cranfield University, Nasmyth Group and SAE International.
There are also at least 20 indirect exhibitors that will be highlighting and announcing new products including: Advanced Logistics for Aerospace, Atlas Composite Technologies, Helix, HR Smith Group of Companies, and Darchem Engineering.
UK-based Farsound Aviation is exhibiting at the event and will showcase its suite of specialist aviation and MRO supply chain and logistics services.
Lee Kelsey, group sales director, said: “The team are looking forward to connecting with customers from across Europe and to meeting new contacts in the international aviation sphere.”
He said the company is currently undergoing “a very exciting period of growth” with expansions happening in the UK, the US and across Europe.
“In April, the company moved into brand-new headquarters in Essex in the UK,” he said. “New facilities have also been acquired recently in Spain and the US to handle growing customer numbers in these commercially vital regions. We are actively working to enhance and expand our presence and market share in Europe and beyond.”
Highlights of the aviation calendar
He added: “Attending the Paris Air Show is one of the highlights of the Farsound calendar. This year is no exception. We greatly look forward to networking and sharing our bespoke services and solutions with key decision-makers and influential figures from the international aviation and MRO sectors at this important event.”
Martin-Baker will also be at the event showcasing its range of ejector seats – namely the KR18A – the first seat in the MK-18 range.
The company owns 53% of the ejector seat market, with more than 17,000 seats in service in 90 countries and 56 different air frames.
The company will also be sponsoring the UK industry drinks reception during the event, which will be held at The British Ambassador’s residence on the Monday of the show.
Scotter said: “The UK aerospace industry will be well represented at this year’s show and attending the reception provides an ideal opportunity to recognise the achievements of the sector and to network with leading representatives from the UK and international companies attending the show.”
