BOC Aviation Limited has announced that it is “pleased to announce that it has entered into a lease transaction involving 14 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft with TUI Airways Limited. All aircraft will be powered by CFM LEAP-1B engines and are scheduled to deliver in 2025 and 2026.”

Steven Townend, the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of BOC Aviation said: “With this financing, we are once more working with our existing customer, TUI, as it builds its fleet of new generation aircraft. With the delivery of these aircraft anticipated over the next two years, this transaction will contribute to our investment and revenue pipelines.”

The additional 737 MAX8s will replace some of the older Boeing B737-800s in the TUI fleet, 32 of which are currently operated by the airline. TUI Airways UK is already flying 21 Boeing 737 MAX8s, and has open orders with Boeing for 39 B737-8s. The company also flies eight Boeing 787-8s, and five 787-9s.
