SWISS has unveiled the first and business class seats of its SWISS Senses cabin, installed on the airline’s new Airbus A350-900s

“As a premium airline, we aim to continue to deliver on our quality promise through our SWISS Senses concept,” said SWISS Chief Commercial Officer Heike Birlenbach during the unveiling of the new cabins in its operations centre at Zurich Airport. “All in all, SWISS Senses represents the biggest product investment in the history of our company – and a further major milestone for Swiss aviation.”

The airline expects to receive the first of ten Airbus A350-900s equipped with the new cabins in October. The aircraft will first operate on European routes this fall. The long-haul launch will be on flights to Boston beginning this winter. Boston flights start on January 1, 2026, and are already available for booking.

SWISS will progressively retrofit its existing Airbus A330-300s and Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with the new SWISS Senses cabins.

A uniquely Swiss design language

The luxurious SWISS Senses concept is the product of London-based design firm PriestmanGoode. The design is rooted in Switzerland’s colours, landscapes, and architectural traditions.

Warm, muted tones—Bordeaux, anthracite, and beige—evoke the calm of Alpine villages and the timeless elegance of Swiss design. The structures recall Swiss architects Le Corbusier and Peter Zumthor. The entire cabin features high-quality, tactile materials intended to deliver a cosy and contemporary elegance.

Newly introduced Human Centric Lighting adjusts throughout the flight to ease the effects of jet lag and support circadian rhythms. Combined with a state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment system—including larger screens and personal device connectivity across all classes—SWISS aims to harmonise comfort with function.

SWISS First for singles and couples

For the first time, SWISS is introducing private suite configurations in SWISS First, offering total enclosure with sliding doors, seat heating and cooling, a spacious table, and a suite-wide entertainment screen. The first class cabin offers two single suites by the window with a centre suite that can convert to dual occupancy for couples travelling together.

The single 25.8 square foot suite offers a very generous 33.8”-wide seat that extends to a 6’6”-wide bed. Passengers can enjoy in-flight entertainment on a 32-inch 4K OLED screen, controlled with a tablet and offering Bluetooth connectivity for headphones.

The 39.8 square foot double suite features two 24” seats together with a 43” 4K OLED screen for in-flight entertainment.

Each suite features a personal wardrobe, wireless charging, and elegant wood finishes.

The dedicated First Class lavatory, inspired by the natural spring waters of Vals in Graubünden, uses a distinctive design palette—slate black on the exterior and green inside—to echo nature and wellness.

The SWISS Senses experience also includes Sisley hand cream and facial lotion in the lavatories. Sisley hand- and facial creams, as well as a combined eye- and lip balm, are included in the amenity kits. Passengers can relax onboard with plush pyjamas and slippers from luxury brand Zimmerli of Switzerland, and sleep comfortably on exclusive bedding tailored for the cabin’s elevated ambience.

Flexible SWISS Senses Business offers five seat options

SWISS Business features a flexible seating concept with five alternate seating options.

  • The Classic seat faces the aisle.
  • The Privacy seat is by the window.
  • An Extra-long bed seat extends to a 7’2” bed (other seats extend to a 6’6” bed).
  • Extra Space seats offer more room for storage
  • Business Suites offer sliding doors for greater privacy.

All five seat options feature 21”-wide seats set at an 83” pitch. All seats offer temperature controls (heating and cooling) for added comfort.

The in-flight entertainment installed on Classic, Privacy, and Extra-long bed seats features 17.3” 4K OLED screens. Extra Space and Business Suites feature 24” 4K OLED screens. All feature tablet controls and Bluetooth connectivity.

The use of rich claret and anthracite hues adds visual depth and warmth to the cabin.

SWISS Premium Economy offers a happy middle

The SWISS Premium Economy cabin offers greater comfort to long-haul passengers at a more affordable fare. The airline arranged the cabin in a 2-3-2 configuration. Seat width varies between 18.5” and 19”, with a 39” pitch.

Seat widths vary from 16” to 18” and pitch ranges from 30” to 39”. All economy seats feature 13.3” 4K OLED touchscreen displays with Bluetooth connectivity, USB ports, and 6-way adjustable headrests.

SWISS appeals to all the senses

While the new visual and structural cabin design is the centrepiece, appealing to sight, touch, and feel, SWISS Senses extends to touchpoints with scent and flavour.

The airline’s new signature onboard fragrance—Alpine Valley—was developed in partnership with Soeder. As the airline describes it, “The fragrance combines aromatic larch, citrus, and fragrant herbs, evoking the crisp, fresh air of the Swiss Alps.”

SWISS also recently announced its first-ever signature cocktail. The airline describes the SWISS Alpine Essence as “a light and floral homage to the White Negroni.”

Other curated dining and service elements will be announced throughout 2026, further enhancing the sensory journey on SWISS Senses planes.
