SAS and Air France-KLM sign codeshare agreements
SAS and Air France-KLM have signed codeshare and interline agreements, with customers to gain access to 33 destinations across northern Europe from 1 September.
The partnership will initially focus on European destinations, with SAS customers to benefit from enhanced connectivity from Air France’s and KLM’s hubs of Paris Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam Schipol. SAS’ hubs in Copenhagen, Oslo and Stokholm will also welcome passengers from the other airlines.
“The collaboration with Air France-KLM holds great opportunities. It will not only attract new passengers to SAS, but also elevate the SAS’ global visibility and connectivity,” said Paul Verhagen, chief commercial officer at SAS. His counterpart at Air France-KLM, Angus Clark, added: “We look forward to further developing this relationship an to strengthening our position in the Scandinavian region”.
The interline agreements (covering Air France, SAS and KLM) will also cover reciprocal loyalty programmes, due to come into effect on 1 September when SAS officially joins the SkyTeam alliance. Intercontinental destinations will also be added to the agreement “in the near future,” adds SAS.
