SAS and Air Europa have entered into a new codeshare agreement, enhancing travel options between Scandinavia and the Iberian Peninsula.

The partnership will enable customers of both airlines to access an expanded network, offering easier connections to destinations in Spain, Portugal, and the Nordics.

Under the deal, SAS passengers will now have access to Air Europa flights from Madrid-Barajas Airport to 12 destinations, including Alicante, Barcelona, Vigo, Málaga, A Coruña, Bilbao, Palma de Mallorca, Gran Canaria, Tenerife Norte, Lisbon, and Oporto.

Air Europa customers will benefit from increased access to SAS’ extensive Scandinavian network. This includes direct flights between Madrid and SAS’ Copenhagen hub, a new service launching on 11 April 2025.

Additionally, Air Europa passengers can connect to key cities across Scandinavia, such as Stockholm, Oslo, Gothenburg, Bergen, Trondheim, Stavanger, and Aarhus.

Paul Verhagen, chief commercial officer at SAS, said: “We are pleased to announce our new codeshare partnership with Air Europa, granting our customers more travel options to the Iberian Peninsula. With SAS’ daily flights from Copenhagen to Madrid, we are improving connectivity between Scandinavia and key destinations across Spain and beyond.

“This collaboration enables both SAS and Air Europa to offer seamless connections and an exceptional travel experience, all backed by the strength of SkyTeam.”

“This agreement with SAS will expand customer choice by adding 20 new routes to our joint offering. Thanks to codesharing, customers will simplify their flight planning and enjoy an equal level of service quality as a result of our membership in the SkyTeam alliance. We are confident that it will be a success for both airlines,” added Imanol Pérez, commercial director at Air Europa.
