Clean fuel supplier Ryze is to supply ZeroAvia with hydrogen for its engine and flight test programme at its UK base of Cotswold Airport.

“This partnership with ZeroAvia is another important milestone for both Ryze and ZeroAvia and cements the ambition of both businesses to make real, tangible headway towards a hydrogen economy both in the UK and globally,” commented Alex Webster, head of business development at Ryze.

The hydrogen-electric powertrain pioneer is progressing with its flight test programme, retrofitting its ZA600 engine to the left side of a Dornier 228 testbed. The hydrogen supply contract with Ryze will allow regular deliveries of the fuel to its UK testing site, meeting “an increased hydrogen demand as the company embarks on extensive ground and flight testing to meet the certification requirements for its ZA600 powertrain”.

Ryze’s tube trailer fleet, the largest available fleet by capacity in the UK with a variety of specifications and capabilities, will also prove instrumental in helping to deliver the fuel ZeroAvia needs to ramp up its research and testing.
