New Adversary Training contracts to support Air Combat Command
September 10, 2024
The US Department of Defense (DoD) issued a US $5.4 Bn contract notification on 9 September confirming that it had picked eight specialised companies to deliver an adversary training service for Air Combat Command, running out to late 2029.
The DoD announcement said that: “This contract provides complete contracted air support services for adversary air threats and close air support threats. Work will be performed throughout and outside the contiguous US, and is expected to be completed by 13 October 2029.”
The DoD identified eight private companies that will provide adversary air (ADAIR) and close air support training services until the end of this decade, under what was described as a “multiple award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for combat air forces close air support operations.” This will be managed by the US Air Force’s Air Combat Command.
The adversary air (ADAIR) services are to be provided by Airborne Tactical Advantage (ATAC) at Luke AFB, Draken International at Seymour Johnson AFB, RAVN Aerospace at Kelly AFB, TACAIR at Hill AFB and Eglin AFB, and Top Aces at Luke AFB and Eglin AFB. Close Air Support threats will be provided by Blue Air Training, Coastal Defense, and Valkyrie Aero.
Some 11 offers were received to meet the requirement, but the DoD has not named the three unsuccessful bidders.
