Florida-based AAM operator UrbanLink Air Mobility has partnered with Californian vertiport developer Skyway Technologies “for the joint placement of vertiports in key US and Caribbean markets”.

“In order to finance and build the vertiports needed to support the AAM industry, it is crucial to have multiple partners,” explained Ed Wegel, founder and chairman of UrbanLink. “We are impressed with Skyway’s understanding of our business and their commitment to delivering well-designed, safe, and efficient vertiports in the US and Caribbean”.

UrbanLink is poised to be the first US eVTOL operator through its partnership with Lilium, announced in May, under which it has committed to purchase 20 Lilium Jets.

The partners intend to release more details on specific vertiport locations and routes in south Florida and Puerto Rico in the next six months, with Skyway CEO Clifford Cruz concluding: “Our partnership with UrbanLink is advancing the industry towards launching operations in the United States”.
