Gulfstream Aerospace has announced that over 100 customer pilots have now earned their type rating for the G700, following the aircraft’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification in March.

The pilots trained at the FlightSafety International centre in Savannah, Georgia. It comes as demand for the G700 increases, Gulfstream said.

In addition to customer pilots, 80 Gulfstream corporate pilots and over 20 FlightSafety instructors have also completed their type rating for the G700.

“Pilots are coming to Savannah from around the world to earn their G700 type rating as aircraft deliveries increase,” said Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream. “Thanks to the innovative and intuitive Gulfstream Symmetry Flight Deck and the maturity of the G700 programme, the ease with which customers are taking delivery is impressive.”

The G700’s Symmetry Flight Deck includes active control sidesticks and an extensive touch-screen interface, designed to reduce pilot workload.

It also features the Combined Vision System (CVS), which merges Gulfstream’s Enhanced and Synthetic Vision Systems into a single display. This advanced system boosts pilot situational awareness and opens up access to a greater range of airports.

Since its FAA certification, the G700 has also been approved by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and has received type certificate validations in nine other countries, including the UK.

The aircraft’s innovations and certifications position it as a leading option in the luxury business jet market.
