November 23, 2024
Menzies Aviation has secured its first operational license in Malaysia to provide ground handling at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL).
The joint venture with local partner MMAG Holdings will begin offering passenger, ramp, and cargo services in January 2025 under a 12-month license.
Their first client, private aviation firm MJets, will see Menzies support over 30 flights weekly.
KUL, Malaysia’s busiest airport, handled 47.2 million passengers and nearly 1 million tonnes of cargo in 2023, solidifying its status as a major aviation hub.
This expansion marks a significant milestone in Menzies Aviation’s growth in Southeast Asia, enhancing its regional footprint.
Philipp Joeinig, Group CEO, Menzies Aviation, said: “We’re very excited to begin operations at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, a key hub serving Malaysia’s capital.
“Menzies Aviation Malaysia will quickly become a key part of operations at the airport, serving more than 30 flights a week by early 2025.
“This underscores Menzies’ determination to increase our presence across South East Asia while delivering aviation services that meet the very highest quality and safety standards.”
