Liebherr Aerospace has been selected by Airbus to develop and deliver two new integrated flight control computers for the A320 family, building on the technology provider’s extensive experience in “complex electronics, hardware and software solutions for flight control systems and landing gears”.

The new fight control computers will be developed and manufactured at Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg and Liebherr-Electronic and Drives, both in Germany, with both sites working in close collaboration. “This programme combines highly complex electronics and software design,” confirmed Klaus Schneider, managing director and chief technology officer at Liebherr-Aerospace and Transportation SAS. “The long-lasting cooperation between Airbus and Liebherr shows a strong trustful collaboration for future programmes,” he added.

The Liebherr platform is developed from a modular concept, allowing flexibility for “future upgrades, adjustments, and additional functions to fit the overall customer’s needs,” states Liebherr.
