JD Airlines (the cargo subsidiary of Chinese airline Jingdong Logistics) is to lease four 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) aircraft from AerCap, augmenting the three it already has on lease from the Irish company.

The three converted 737-800BCFs are scheduled for delivery in 2024 and will be based at Nantong Xingdong International Airport, operating routes between the major economic hubs of Nantong, Beijing, Shenzhen, Wuxi and across Asia.

“The addition of these four 737-800BCF aircraft to [JD Airlines’] fleet will enable [the airline] to respond to the ever-growing demand for e-commerce and express deliveries,” said Rich Greener, head of AerCap Cargo. “We wish the JD Airlines team continued success and look forward to many more years of successful collaboration”.

In January 2023, AerCap described the 737-BCF as “one of the most in-demand narrowbody freighter aircraft in the industry, thanks to its versatility and reliability, making it the perfect choice for express air cargo and e-commerce networks”.
