Leonardo has secured a contract with the Italian Coast Guard’s General Command of the Port Authorities to supply an ATR 42-600 Maritime Patrol (MP) aircraft..
The new addition joins an existing fleet that includes three ATR 42 MP aircraft based on the ATR 42-400 and ATR 42-500 models.
The ATR 42 MP is designed on the ATR 42-600 turboprop platform. Equipped with cutting-edge, multi-domain sensors and advanced communication systems, the ATR 42 MP enables real-time data sharing to streamline decision-making across the entire command structure.
This aircraft will support the Coast Guard’s diverse mission profile, including coastal and international water patrols along Italy’s extensive coastlines.
The ATR 42 MP also comes equipped with Leonardo’s ATOS (Airborne Tactical Observation and Surveillance) modular mission system, which integrates data from multiple sensors to present a comprehensive tactical overview.
