HTM Helicopters has placed an order for an additional H145 helicopter, alongside two options, for use in German and French offshore wind operations; augmenting its current fleet of 18 Airbus helicopters.

Managing Director for HTM Helicopters Bernd Brucherseifer described the platform as “the perfect tool for the operation and maintenance phase in offshore wind operations,” with the helicopter to be used to transport technicians and materials to the offshore locations. “Over the last 15 years in the offshore wind business, we’ve seen projects move further out from the coast and require additional payload which has led us to add additional H145s to our fleet,” he elaborated.

HTM was the first operator to take delivery of a five-bladed H145 (increasing the helicopter’s useful load by 150kg) to be used for offshore wind operations in 2021. Delivery of the newly ordered helicopter will take HTM’s total H145 fleet to eight units (ten including options), with five of these (seven including options) to be used to support offshore missions.
