Fairfax India increases stake in Bangalore International Airport

February 23, 2025

Fairfax India Holdings has completed the acquisition of an additional 10% stake in Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), bringing its total ownership to 74%.
The shares were purchased from Siemens Project Ventures, part of Siemens Financial Services, for $255 million.
The deal, structured in three installments, saw an initial payment made at closing, with the remaining amounts due on 31 August 2025 and 31 July 2026.
Fairfax India now holds its stake through both a wholly owned subsidiary (30.4%) and an indirect subsidiary, Anchorage Infrastructure Investments Holdings Limited (43.6%).
The Airports Authority of India and Karnataka State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation each retain their 13% holdings in BIAL.
BIAL, which operates Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru, has a concession agreement with the Indian government until 2068, allowing it exclusive rights to manage the airport under a public-private partnership.
