Eve and partners complete São Paulo air traffic management simulation
November 4, 2024
Eve Air Mobility, Brazilian AAM platform Revo and its parent company Omni Helicopters International Group has concluded an urban air traffic simulation in São Paulo as part of a strategic partnership.
Substituting eVTOLs for Revo’s helicopters, Eve’s urban air traffic management solution ‘Vector’ shadowed the aircraft’s operations, simulating their management and tracking. “The simulation focused on validating new traffic management services necessary for eVTOLs to conduct safe and reliable operations at entry into services and in high utilisation use cases at scale,” explained Eve.
“We took the first step just over a year ago, starting an accelerated learning process with helicopters to lead this transition,” explained Revo CEO João Welsh. “Early collaboration between industry leaders, urban planners, infrastructure developers, and local communities will help ensure that key challenges are addressed holistically, and we will continue to develop the ecosystem over the coming months”. Revo has also placed a pre-order for up to 50 Eve aircraft.
Eve expects first deliveries and entry into service as soon as 2026, with Eve CEO Johann Bordais concluding: “We’re delighted to partner with Revo for this initiative to foster the urban air mobility market in Latin America’s largest city, aiming to conduct a real-world simulation to set the stage for urban flights in São Paulo in a climate-conscious manner”.
