As of January 2025 Emirates plans to deploy its retrofitted Boeing 777 on flights between its hub in Dubai and the Austrian capital of Vienna.

Vienna is the fourth city in the UAE carrier’s European network to receive the enhanced four-class Boeing aircraft.

Featuring eight first class suites, 40 business class seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, 24 premium economy and 256 economy seats, the retrofitted aircraft is inspired by the fresh, contemporary design elements of Emirates’ iconic A380 experience.

The first class suites have the latest technology, zero gravity seats and floor-to-ceiling privacy doors. Middle seats also feature virtual windows. In business, passengers can expect soft leather cream seats with a champagne trim, light wood panelling and a mini-bar. The seats will also convert to a flatbed reclining up to 78.6 inches, while passengers will also benefit from 23-inch HD screens, some of the biggest in the skies.

Premium economy seats are arranged in a 2-4-2 configuration with six-way adjustable headrests while in economy all seats have been ergonomically designed and feature the airline’s award-winning inflight entertainment on a 13.3 inch HD TV screen.

Emirates’ programme to refurbish 191 aircraft (including both its Boeing 777s and Airbus A380s) launched two years ago in November 2022. Having launched flights to Austria in 2004, the airline recently celebrated 20 years of operations in Austria and currently serves the capital twice daily on a fleet of Boeing 777s and A380s. It has carried more than five million passengers on over 20,500 flights between Vienna and Dubai and is a vital contributor to the country’s exports and imports, having transported nearly 250,000 tonnes of freight to and from Vienna over the last 10 years.
