Embraer has unveiled plans to invest approximately $3.5 billion (£2.8 billion) by 2030, as part of the Brazilian manufacturer’s commitment to technological advancement and sustainable aviation.
The announcement was made during the “Mission 6 of the New Industry Brazil (Nova Indústria Brasil/NIB)” ceremony in Brasília, attended by Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Vice President Geraldo Alckmin, and other senior officials.
One element of the company’s vision is its electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) vehicle, produced by Eve, an Embraer-backed subsidiary dedicated to urban air mobility solutions.
“The New Industry Brazil programme plays an essential role in the resumption of the country’s competitiveness. The partnership with Embraer, and with the entire Defense Industrial Base, will continue to be fundamental to encouraging exports of Brazilian products, as well as the generation of qualified jobs and income, also guaranteeing the mastery of critical technologies aimed at national sovereignty,” said Francisco Gomes Neto, president and CEO of Embraer.
Embraer currently employs 23,500 people worldwide, with 18,000 based in Brazil. The company’s workforce now exceeds pre-pandemic levels, having created more than 2,500 jobs in the past two years.
It continues to invest in training and professional development to support the next generation of aerospace engineers and specialists.
