Embraer is to expand its growing investment in its US MRO network with the opening of a new Embraer-owned service centre at Perot Field Alliance Airport, Fort Worth, Texas.
Operations will commence in early 2025 from an existing hangar while a second purpose-built hangar, slated for completion by 2027, is constructed. Embraer estimates this new facility will expand its ability to perform maintenance, repair and overhaul services for its E-Jet family in the US by 53%.
“We are excited to receive the final approval for this important expansion of our MRO business that supports our continued investment in the US market,” said Carlos Naufel, president and CEO of Embraer services and support. President and CEO of Fort Worth Economic Development Partnership Robert Allen added that the project “stands as a clear testament to Fort Worth’s robust aerospace and defence sector”.
Embraer concluded that the investment will reach up to $70 million and is expected to create around 250 new skilled jobs in Texas. “We’re excited to see the lasting impact this will have on the industry and our community’s continued growth,” concluded Allen.
