The 18th Dubai Airshow, set to be the biggest on record and aiming to keep up the pace set in Paris, kicks off on 13 November.

Some 1,400 exhibitors from 95 countries are taking part.

Major announcements and deals are expected at the event, including from the likes of Embraer, Eurofighter and a number of AAM companies which will be attending the week-long show.

FTI Consulting estimates 400+ potential orders across Emirates (widebodies), Saudia & Riyadh Air (narorwbodies), and Flydubai (narrowbodies) relative to the 1,214 orders at the Paris Air Show this summer.

The Middle East accounted for 9% of 2019 air traffic and is 6% of the global fleet today given the widebody focus (53% of ME fleet).

Dubai has seen 2,889 orders, or 19% of the 12,510 total global air show orders, since 2010.

That ranks DAS third behind Paris (5,401, or 43%) and Farnborough (3,750, or 30%).

Dubai is central to many Middle Eastern carrier orders and could feature several mega-deals despite the current ME order book already at 73% of the fleet, said FTI Consulting.

Boeing’s state-of-the-art F-15QA (Qatar Advanced) fighter jet will make its air show performance debut next week when it performs in aerial demonstrations.

The company will also demonstrate its widebody 777-9 flight-test airplane during the event, with both flying display performances and the aircraft on its static display.

As a strategic sponsor of the airshow’s Aerospace 2050 conference, Boeing will also highlight its commitment and actions towards a more sustainable aerospace future with two presentations on innovation and technologies helping the industry’s efforts to decarbonise aviation.

“We’re proud to again join the Dubai Airshow and share some of our most advanced products and services with customers, suppliers, partners and aviation enthusiasts attending from around the globe,” said Dr. Brendan Nelson AO, president of Boeing Global. “We will also focus on our investments in technology and other actions to reduce industry emissions ahead of the U.N. Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP 28) in Dubai.”
