CDB Aviation to order 80 A320neo-family aircraft

CDB Aviation Lease Finance is to purchase some 80 A320neo aircraft for delivery in 2030-32.

CDB Aviation Lease Finance DAC, the Shenzhen-based aviation lessor arm of the China Development Bank, announced on 11 September 2024, that it intends to place an order with Airbus for 80 A320neo-family aircraft. These are to be delivered to CDB-customers between 2030 and 2032. Currently, CDB Aviation has open orders with Airbus for 11 A320neos and 28 A321neos.

 

The company’s Hong Kong Stock Exchange announcement explained that the order would optimize its fleet structure and increase the proportion of next-generation aircraft with advanced technologies, high fuel efficiency and wide market penetration.

 

China Development Bank has not identified specific variants of the aircraft family that will be covered by the purchase agreement, nor has it indicated what engines might be selected. No value was given for the cost of the proposed transaction.
