The sixth edition of the Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS) 2022 entered its third and final day on Friday at the Sakhir Air Base.

Cargo was front and centre with Texel Air announcing an investment in its horse charter service with the purchase of HAY Horse Stalls from VRR in the Netherlands.

HAY Horse Stalls are heavy-duty non-collapsible stalls allowing up to three horses to be transported per stall.

George Chisholm, CEO of Chisholm Enterprises, the parent company of Texel air, said it was important for Texel Air to invest in a state-of-the-art solution for horse transport.

Final air display

On Friday afternoon the skies above Sakhir Air Base will be filled with more of the world’s most renowned air display teams and aircraft, with showcases of the RBAF, JF-17, Fursan Al Emarat and UAE F16, among others.

Earlier in the week, Pratt & Whitney announced that Royal Jordanian Airlines had selected up to 30 of the latest-generation, single-aisle aircraft powered by GTF engines, replacing its entire narrow body and regional jet fleet over the coming three to five years.

Specifically, the airline has selected GTF engines to power up to 20 new Airbus A320neo family aircraft, including A320neo and A321neo models.

Gulf Air and Emirates also signed a unilateral codeshare partnership on Wednesday. The new agreement will offer easy connections and expanded choices for Gulf Air customers connecting to Dubai and onwards to a host of Emirates destinations across Europe, Africa, South America and the Far East.Subscribe to the FINN weekly newsletter
