To streamline its European expansion Broward Aviation Services (BAS) has opened a stock hub in Shannon, Ireland to complement its US facilities in Florida and Arizona. An additional hub in Asia is also in the pipeline.

Located adjacent to Shannon International Airport, BAS’ new 10,000 sq.ft. warehouse has a stock inventory valued at around US$15 million. Dennis Amaty, co-founder and president, Broward Aviation Services, explained: “With our teardown programme for airframes and aircraft engines gathering momentum we are investing heavily in Boeing 737 inventory to hold in the US and Ireland.”

As a specialist aircraft parts provider with over five million items held in stock hubs in its facilities in the US and now Ireland, BAS understands the complexities of the aviation parts market and has a robust purchasing strategy. The company, which is actively looking for narrowbody assets and engines to dismantle for stock, recently acquired a B737-700 airframe from Aero Capital Solutions. Disassembly is expected to be complete in early November with torn down assets to be repaired and put into stock in Ireland, as well as in the US.

As a commercial hub, the Shannon facility will focus on sales, customer support initiatives and Aircraft On Ground (AOGs). Tracey Downes, managing director, Broward Aviation Services Ireland, emphasised that the company’s EMEA customers recognise the speed of response that BAS is renowned for. “They are keen to do business with us for their aircraft and engine parts, excited by the fact we will be on their doorstep.”
