The Multi-Crew Pilot Licence (MPL) training programme between BAA Training and Bamboo Airways has been officially approved by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV), which makes it the first and only programme of such type in Vietnam.

A three-year cooperation agreement will initially involve training approximately 100 student pilots within three years from 2023 to 2025.

Comprehensive training

Vytautas Jankauskas, CEO at BAA Training Vietnam, said: “Both BAA Training and Bamboo Airways share the same values. They ensure initial cadets get high-quality, comprehensive training complying with the industry regulatory requirements, where aviation safety practices play a fundamental role. Our collaboration with Bamboo Airways allows us to combine our efforts and introduce a new MPL training programme following EASA’s rules and regulations. We expect to have a new generation of pilots to serve the airline industry in Vietnam.”

“We especially appreciate Bamboo Airways’ transparency, willingness to take an innovative approach, and use modern business management methods. The newly launched MPL programme will allow us to contribute to developing the Vietnamese aviation sector by preparing self-disciplined pilots with the right skillset ready to work in a complex operational environment.”
