ANA awarded €233 million contract to modernise Lisbon Airport

Vinci Airports subsidiary, ANA Aeroportos de Portugal, has been given the green light to modernise and upgrade Lisbon Humberto Delgado Airport.
The €233 million contract was awarded to ANA, during a ceremony attended by Portugal’s Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure. A consortium including Mota-Engil, Vinci Construction Grands Projects, Alves Ribeiro and HCI, agreed the modernisation works with ANA as part of wider plans to enhance the passenger experience and streamline operations at the Portuguese hub.
The planned works will include the expansion of the terminal with a new 33,000 sq.m. South Pier, the construction of 10 boarding bridges and 12 aircraft parking stands, the remodelling of the existing Central Pier and the redesign of bus gates.
The upgraded terminal, which is expected to be completed by 2027, will enable passengers to benefit from a more spacious facility, direct access to aircraft, as well as enhanced operations.
French airport operator Vinci is on a mission got expand connections in Portugal and has invested €120 million in the country’s airports so far in 2024. This latest agreement marks the largest capex contract since Vinci Airports invested in ANA in 2013. ANA holds a 50-year concession for Portugal’s ten airports.
