Air Serbia has completed the renewal of its regional fleet with the arrival of its tenth ATR 72-600, finalising the process of modernisation and expansion it commenced in January 2022.

The Serbian national carrier has been gradually replacing its ATR 72-200 and ATR 72-500 aircraft with the ATR 72-600 variant, able to seat up to 78 passengers and described by its manufacturer as “the benchmark aircraft in the regional market with unbeatable economics”. The average age of the aircraft in the airline’s regional fleet is now nine years, making it the youngest in the broader Western Balkans region.

“We are extremely pleased with the choice of aircraft and the pace of their entry into service,” said CEO of Air Serbia Jiri Marek, who added that “despite challenging market conditions,” he was pleased to have acquired “as many of ten aircraft of the same type, thus standardising [Air Serbia’s] fleet”.

The latest addition to the Air Serbia regional fleet (registration YU-ASC) has been undergoing handover and technical inspection procedures in France since 10 May, having previously been painted in the airline’s livery in Toulouse.
