AEM, which is part of AMETEK MRO, has signed an agreement with Liebherr-Aerospace that will see it provide landing gear maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services to Embraer E190 aircraft across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Signed at MRO Europe in Barcelona, the agreement builds on a Memorandum of Understanding initially signed two years ago in 2002. It also “showcases AEM’s capabilities as a leading landing gear maintenance provider,” commented Mike Audus, VP & business unit manager, Aerospace Europe for AMETEK MRO.

The partnership will enable the two companies to optimise the fleet operations of E-Jet E1 customers across the region by “generating increased availability and more flexibility when they plan and select overhaul slots,” said Christian Franz, director customer service Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg.

AEM’s facility in Ramsgate is set to handle the increased landing gear workload for Liebherr-Aerospace. Andy Wheeler, divisional VP and managing director of AEM praised his “highly trained team of technicians in Ramsgate,” noting their “consistency in providing the quality of MRO that Liebherr’s customers demand.”

As a well-established MRO provider, AEM is well-positioned to support the OEM in delivering first-class, efficient services, increasing the availability of overhaul slots for operators of the E-Jet E1 aircraft.
