Additional 747-400 for Challenge Group
December 18, 2024
Cargo airline Challenge Group has acquired another Boeing 747-400 freighter, taking its total units of the type to four. Registered under Challenge Group’s Belgian AOC, the aircraft will be primarily used to meet increased e-commerce demand from China as well as transporting perishable goods out of Africa.
The additional aircraft – augmenting an existing three 747-400Fs and four 767-300Fs – “reinforces our ability to respond to the evolving demands of the air freight capacity while expanding our capability to sere new markets,” commented Challenge Group chief commercial officer Or Zak.
When introducing the first 767 to the fleet in late 2023, Zak had alluded to the group’s global growth, describing how “with additional capacity and enhanced flexibility, we can offer improved frequency to our current destinations and venture into new markets, enriching our global presence significantly”.
