AARTOS anti-drone system claims market-leading detection range at DSEI London

September 11, 2025

Aaronia’s AARTOS anti-drone system is taking centre stage at DSEI London, pitched as the most powerful counter-UAS solution of its kind.
The system is being presented as a critical tool for military and security operators facing the growing threat of drones on the battlefield and in civilian environments.
Counter-drone system with market-leading detection range
Germany-based Aaronia claims the AARTOS system offers the highest detection range currently available, capable of identifying consumer-grade UAVs at up to 40 km and military platforms at 80 km.
This is achieved through real-time drone protocol decoding and RF signal detection, allowing operators to detect, classify and track drones before they can pose a threat.
With drone use proliferating in both conflict zones and domestic spaces, the promise of such extended range has drawn attention at DSEI, where the system is being showcased to defence, government and infrastructure buyers.
Real-time protocol decoding strengthens RF detection
At the core of AARTOS is its ability to perform live decoding of drone communication protocols, enabling precise identification of drone types, control links and even flight intentions.
Unlike traditional RF detection, which may only reveal an unidentified emitter, AARTOS provides a detailed picture of what is in the air and how it is operating.

This feature allows operators not just to detect intrusions but to rapidly distinguish between harmless drones and potential threats, reducing false alarms and enabling faster decision-making in sensitive environments.
Scalable counter-UAS solution for defence and security
Aaronia positions AARTOS as a scalable solution adaptable to a wide range of applications, from military bases and forward operating positions to airports, prisons and critical infrastructure.
Configurations can be tailored for fixed installations or mobile deployments, giving operators flexibility to adapt to changing threat environments.
According to the company, more than 600 AARTOS drone detection and defence systems were in use worldwide by the end of 2024, establishing the platform as one of the leading solutions on the global market.
With recent conflicts highlighting how small drones can alter battlefield dynamics, AARTOS is being positioned as a force multiplier for counter-UAS operations.
