Airbus has posted a strong start to the year with 55 gross orders taken in January 2025. However, the French airframer only delivered 25 aircraft to 17 customers during the month, five units less than January 2024’s total of 30.

Of the 55 gross orders added to Airbus’ backlog, only two customers have so far been disclosed, with five additional A350Fs for Starlux Airlines and five A350-1000s for Lufthansa. Other as-yet anonymous orders include 25 A320neos, one further A320neo, ten A330-900s, eight A350Fs, and six A350-900s.

In January 2024, alongside recording 31 gross orders, Airbus delivered 30 units to 18 customers. Month-on-month, the recently revealed statistics are also almost five times lower than December 2024’s delivery total of 123 aircraft. Although it has not yet set targets for 2025, Airbus delivered a total of 766 aircraft in the full year 2024.
