Aviation fuel supplier, Avfuel, is expanding its supply of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to airports in southeastern US through a distribution agreement with Valero.

The emphasis initially will be on delivering SAF to Florida, with the delivery expected in the coming months. Speaking at the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (BACE), Joel Hirst, Avfuel’s SVP of sales, said, “This supply agreement exemplifies the proactive approach needed to meet the industry’s sustainability goals, providing a practical, scalable solution for operators looking to reduce emissions without compromising performance.”

The neat SAF is being produced using feedstocks such as used cooking oil, fats and greases in the HEFA pathway and on a 30/70 blended basis the fuel can lower lifecycle CO2 emissions by up to 24% when compared to conventional jet fuel.
