James Dorris launched Odys Aviation in 2021 to transform aviation through hybrid-electric propulsion. As CEO, he led development of Laila, Odys’ dual use UAV, and a family of scalable hybrid propulsion systems ranging from 60 kW to 2 MW, currently being integrated across aircraft and ground-based applications. Delivery of Laila aircraft to customers is anticipated to begin later this year. With over 20 years of experience at the intersection of power and mobility, James has built teams at startups, developed core technology, and delivered innovative transportation systems. Prior to Odys, he held leadership roles at GoogleX, Virgin Hyperloop One, and Arrivo.
