Lufthansa has announced that it will begin flying the Airbus A380 to Denver from 30 April 2025, marking the first time the US city will host the double-decker.

The move makes Denver the sixth destination served by Lufthansa’s A380 fleet.

The new service will operate daily from Munich, with flight LH480 departing at 11:15am and arriving in Denver at 1:45pm local time. The return leg will leave Denver at 4:15pm, landing back in Munich at 10:50am the following day.

The aircraft, which features 509 seats across four classes, includes eight in First Class, 78 in Business Class, 52 in Premium Economy, and 371 in Economy.

Denver, a gateway to the Rocky Mountains, is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts. The city also serves as a key hub for Lufthansa’s Star Alliance partner, United Airlines.

Lufthansa has been flying to Denver for nearly a decade from Munich and 25 years from Frankfurt. With the addition of the A380, summer 2025 will see four daily Lufthansa flights to Denver – two from Munich and two from Frankfurt.

Heiko Reitz, CCO Lufthansa Airlines, said: “The Airbus A380 service to Denver is not only a first for Lufthansa, but also for the airport itself. It is the first time that a scheduled flight with an aircraft of this size will land there. Passengers, airport visitors and crews love the A380, the flying experience and the feeling of space. At the same time, the A380 offers more premium seats than any other aircraft.”
