The Egyptian flag-carrier has exercised six options for Airbus A350-900s following a deal originally made in 2023 to meet growing demand across its network.

The agreement sees the airline’s order for the aircraft type now total 16. Egyptair ordered 10 A350-900s in 2023, the first of which it expects to receive this year. Deliveries for the additional six aircraft made on 18 June are expected to start in 2026 and conclude in 2030.

“We are continuously working to modernise our fleet and deliver a more comfortable and optimised travel experience,” said Egyptair chairman and CEO Capt. Ahmed Adel.

The collaboration with Airbus builds on a relationship that spans decades and is marked by multiple deals between the two companies. “Today’s announcement reflects our commitment to integrating the next-generation aircraft into our fleet. It will enable us to meet rising demand for long-haul travel, support our network expansion plans over the next five years and contribute to Egypt’s’ broader efforts to promote more sustainable air transport,” he continued.

Meanwhile, Benoit de Saint-Exupery, Airbus EVP sales of the commercial aircraft business, described the A350 as a “pillar” in the Egyptian carrier’s journey. “We look forward to these aircraft playing a pivotal role in the airline’s continued success, growth and decarbonisation ambition,” he said.
