Jet2 is expanding its operations with a new base at London Luton Airport, marking a significant development in its UK presence.

This will be Jet2’s 13th base, aiming to meet increasing demand for holiday travel from the southeast.

Scheduled to launch in 2025, Jet2 plans to operate an initial 17 routes from Luton, focusing on popular Mediterranean destinations and city breaks, according to aviation schedule analyst Sean Moulton.

The expansion aligns with Jet2’s broader strategy to grow in key UK markets.

In March, Jet2 announced an expansion to Bournemouth Airport, their 12th UK base airport.

Jet2 chief executive Steve Heapy said: “We are very excited to announce London Luton airport as our 13th UK airport base today, further expanding our footprint and bringing our award-winning holidays and flights to even more customers.

“Customers and independent travel agents have been asking us to open at London Luton airport for many years now, so we know how enormously popular this announcement will be.”
