Fleet expansion signals new chapter in BermudAir’s growth strategy
January 23, 2025
BermudAir has acquired two Embraer 190AR-E1 aircraft, doubling its fleet and capacity to connect travellers to and from Bermuda.
The island-based airline, which was launched in 2022 before starting commercial operations in 2023, currently operates a fleet of two Embraer 175 aircraft offering flights to New York, Florida, Baltimore and Toronto in Canada.
The two new Embraer 190 aircraft are slated to join the fleet in spring 2025, not only doubling the airline’s fleet but also its capacity and reach with the new aircraft type offering a greater range (an additional 1,000km) compared to the E175 and therefore new opportunities to connect passengers travelling to and from Bermuda. The E190, which seats 96 passengers, also offers approximately 1,000kg more cargo space than the E175.
One of the new aircraft will be used to operate as a dedicated spare and on-demand charter aircraft, while the other will enable the airline to increase frequency on existing routes while expanding into new markets.
“After just one year of establishing BermudAir, we are thrilled to take this next step in our journey,” said Adam Scott, founder and CEO commenting on the fleet expansion.
“Adding these two Embraer 190 aircraft will allow us to grow thoughtfully while ensuring we maintain the high standards of reliability and service our customers have come to expect. This expansion will support our efforts to stabilise operations, create new opportunities for travel and enhance the experience for everyone who flies BermudAir.”
Underlining that knowing when to grow and how to do so responsibly is critical to ensuring long-term success, Scott also noted that this fleet expansion “reflects the airline’s commitment to meet the needs of its customers while continuing to deliver the reliable and exceptional service BermudAir is known for.”
