Europe’s most punctual airline revealed

Scandinavian carrier SAS led Europe’s airlines in punctuality, with 86.64% of its flights arriving on time, according to Cirium’s latest Global On-Time Performance Report for October 2024.

Scandinavian carrier SAS led Europe’s airlines in punctuality, with 86.64% of its flights arriving on time, according to Cirium’s latest Global On-Time Performance Report for October 2024.

Austrian Airlines followed in second place with an on-time arrival rate of 84.74%.

The other European airlines in the top five were Finnair, Norwegian, and Transavia France, each achieving over 80% punctuality. No UK-based airline ranked in the top 10 for on-time performance in Europe.

Globally, Aeromexico took the top spot for punctuality, with 91.88% of flights arriving on schedule. Delta Air Lines followed closely with a punctuality score of 90.53%, while Saudia achieved third place with 89.69% of flights arriving on time.

United Airlines and Hainan Airlines completed the top five, with on-time performance scores of 88.13% and 87.14%, respectively.

Flight cancellations saw a notable decline in October, with global cancellations down by 8% from the previous month. A total of 43,484 flights were cancelled in October, compared to 47,324 in September.

In Europe, cancellations similarly decreased by 8%, with 7,121 flights cancelled, down from 7,731 in September.
