Emirates is launching a smattering of new routes across east and south-east Asia; a not all that common move for a carrier that has been cautious when it comes to network expansion.

The airline will launch daily non-stop flights between Dubai and Shenzhen from 1 July 2025. The airline is also adding four weekly flights to Da Nang from 2 June and three weekly flights to Siem Reap from 3 June, both via Bangkok.

With these new routes, Emirates increases its footprint in East Asia, offering 269 flights per week from Dubai to 24 destinations. Shenzhen becomes the airline’s fourth gateway in mainland China, while Da Nang and Siem Reap mark its third destination in Vietnam and second in Cambodia.

Shenzhen, a global tech and innovation hub, will be served daily by Emirates, making it the first Middle Eastern airline to do so. The airline has operated direct flights between the Middle East and China since 2002, starting with Shanghai. The new Shenzhen route has flight times set to maximise connections to Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas.

Shenzhen will also be the first Chinese city to receive Emirates’ retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER, featuring updated Business Class seats and a Premium Economy cabin. Alongside passenger services, Emirates will transport up to 10 tonnes of cargo per flight.

The new Da Nang service will operate four times a week via Bangkok, adding to Emirates’ existing Vietnam routes to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Flights will run on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, offering convenient connections to Europe and the US. Siem Reap flights will operate three times a week, also via Bangkok, catering to leisure travellers from major European hubs.

Both Da Nang and Siem Reap flights will use the airline’s two-class Boeing 777-300ER, with Business and Economy cabins. Passengers can connect through Bangkok, where Emirates operates five daily flights, and enjoy the newly expanded Emirates lounge.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, said: “We remain committed to offering business and leisure travellers unparalleled access to Southeast Asia and the broader East Asia region by delivering an extensive flight schedule.

“Our expansion into Shenzhen opens new doors for business and economic exchange between this technological powerhouse and global markets.

“As we prepare to launch operations, we extend our gratitude to the Chinese authorities and airport partners for their ongoing support and are committed to ensuring this route’s success while fostering cultural bonds and unlocking future economic potential.”
