Delta Air Lines has signed a codeshare agreement with Saudia, expanding travel options for passengers between North America and the Arabian Peninsula.

The partnership builds on the airlines’ existing interline relationship and will offer enhanced connectivity between the U.S. and the Middle East once government approvals are secured.

The agreement will allow Delta passengers to access nine destinations in Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East via Saudia’s hubs in Jeddah and Riyadh.

In turn, Saudia customers will be able to connect to 12 U.S. destinations through Delta’s hubs at New York’s JFK and Los Angeles (LAX).

Both airlines, members of the SkyTeam alliance, will offer reciprocal benefits to frequent flyers, including the ability to earn and redeem miles across both carriers. SkyTeam Elite Plus passengers will also enjoy priority services, enhancing the travel experience for both leisure and business travellers.

Perry Cantarutti, Senior Vice President Alliances, said: “Saudia’s growing Jeddah hub and extensive network bring Delta customers closer to greater access to destinations across one of the world’s most important economic regions. Strengthening our partnership responds to customer demand for more travel choice between the Gulf and North America.”

Arved Von Zur Muehlen, Chief Commercial Officer at Saudia, stated: “Signing this codeshare agreement with Delta Air Lines reflects Saudia’s commitment to expanding its flight network, providing seamless travel experiences and enhancing its global connectivity. This provides Saudia’s guests with more travel options, promoting the local tourism sector and allowing international visitors to discover the diversity of the Kingdom’s attractions.”
