Condor adds 4 more Airbus A330neo widebodies for growth

July 17, 2025

German leisure carrier Condor has added more Airbus widebodies to its fleet, placing an order for four additional A330-900s and agreeing options for a further four.
Condor is already flying 18 of the new technology widebodies, and expects three more to be delivered by the end of 2027. With these additions, it will be flying a total of 25 A330neos by 2031.
Condor’s Airbus order is about growth, not replacement
Up until now, the airline’s widebody orders have been very much about replacing old with new.
Condor completed its long haul fleet renewal in 2024, phasing out the last of its Airbus A330ceos and removing older Boeing 767s from its fleet.
All 12 of the airline’s remaining Boeing 767s were removed from the fleet between July 2022 and March 2024. Seven A330ceos that were still in the fleet after the COVID pause were removed by January 2024.

Those 19 aircraft have been almost replaced like-for-like with Condor’s previous tranche of Airbus A330neo orders. By the time the final three from that order book have been delivered, the airline will be in growth.
Adding another four A330neos might not seem particularly ambitious, but for a relatively small airline like Condor, it signals a steady and deliberate growth that’s being carefully managed.
“By ordering additional long-haul aircraft, we intend to open up new opportunities in the international business and continue the successful strategy of growth seen in recent years,” says Peter Gerber, CEO Condor.
Condor’s entire operation is comprised of only 69 aircraft, with the short haul side slowly transitioning to an all-A320neo family fleet. The airline expects all of its 43-strong A320neo order to be delivered by 2028, at which point the short-medium haul renewal will be complete.

The Boeing 757 remains for now, operating on medium haul routes. A Condor spokesperson tells AGN that they expect to phase out the Boeing 757 by this autumn as more A320neo-family aircraft arrive.
The Airbus A330neo gives Condor a standardised product
Thanks to its efforts in fleet renewal, all Condor’s long haul flights this summer will be operated with new Airbus A330neo aircraft, standardising the product onboard and creating a consistent brand identity across its fleet.
And Condor’s brand identity is very strong, with its stripy aircraft turning heads at every airport. The airline said the design, which is replicated throughout the cabin, is inspired by deck chairs and swimming towels.

For its customers, it means that regardless of the flight booked, they are guaranteed and Airbus A330neo experience. That includes the whisper-quiet cabin, mood lighting, next level IFE and all-new seats.
“The consistently positive customer feedback and the operational stability prove that we are on the right track to continue to count on the A330neo in the future,” says Gerber.
While many airlines are looking to the long-range, high capacity benefits of the A350, Condor is finding that the A330neo is the ‘just right’ aircraft for its needs.
