AirBaltic has reported a 4% revenue increase for May 2024 compared to the year prior, despite a slight drop in passenger numbers; a performance described by the Latvian national carrier as “continuously steady” and suggesting “positive business trends”.

The airline reported a preliminary revenue of €68.1 million in May 2024 despite a 1% drop in passengers. Nevertheless, airBaltic states it remains confident of its financial performance. Earlier this year, the airBaltic group also achieved a record-breaking first quarter revenue of over €132 million, a 27% increase from 2023.

“At the beginning of May, we expanded our network by launching 15 new destinations from all our home bases, including seven new countries in Southeast Europe,” said airBaltic president and CEO Martin Gauss. “During the upcoming months, we plan to continue expanding our network by launching new pop-up and scheduled flights, continuing our operations from our seasonal base in Gran Canaria, and launching direct flights to a unique new destination – Madeira”. AirBaltic will operate a total of 130 routes over the course of this year, also a new record for the carrier.
