Latvian airline airBaltic has announced an extension of its codeshare agreement with Germany’s national carrier, Lufthansa, effective from 6 November 2024 for travel beginning 20 November 2024.

Under this expanded partnership, airBaltic will add its BT code to six Lufthansa routes operating from Munich to key German cities: Bremen, Cologne Bonn, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Hannover, and Stuttgart.

This enhanced agreement provides airBaltic passengers with greater access to Germany from the Baltic region and beyond.

AirBaltic, which operates over 130 routes from hubs in Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius, Tampere, and seasonally from Gran Canaria, offers travellers a variety of connections across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Caucasus.

For UK travellers, the expanded codeshare opens up streamlined connections through airBaltic’s network for those looking to explore Germany or transit further into Europe and neighbouring regions.

Martin Gauss, president and CEO of airBaltic, said: “We are glad to extend our already existing, long-term codeshare cooperation with our valued partner Lufthansa by now adding our code to six of their domestic routes from Munich.

“Our already-existing partnership enabled us to offer our passengers more flexibility for travel between Latvia and Germany, and beyond.

“This extension will now further enhance the travel options within Lufthansa’s home country as well, which continues to be one of the core target markets for airBaltic.”
